Argentina and its success at the Decanter World Wine Awards

This week, Decanter World Wine Awards’ results were published. In this important United Kingdom’s contest, Argentina has obtained 9 Regional Trophies and 18 Gold Medals.

Only two Argentinian Malbec wines have achieved a Regional Trophy at the 2011 Decanter contest. One of them is the wine made by Santa Ana, in the “under £10” category. The other one is a 2009 Malbec made by Bodega Chalten from Patagonia, which was awarded in the “over £10“ category. Regional Trophies are prizes for the best wines of each category, competing to be the best wine of each region.

Due to the many awards he reached in the last years, it is worthwhile to mention the excellent work performed by Rodolfo Opi Sadler on Santa Ana brand. In this opportunity, his 2009 La Mascota Malbec was awarded the Regional Trophy in the “under £10” category.
