Three local acupuncturists are back from Tibet, where they had been invited by the Center for Development of Tibetology for a 30 day course on Tibetan medicine in hospitals that specialize in acupuncture and related medicine in the cities of Lhasa and Beijing, China. The acupuncturists will begin a series of free classes on the subject, starting off with a free seminar open to the public tomorrow tonight, Thursday, May 27th, at 8:30pm in the Auditorium Angel Bustelo
Luis Roux, president of the Association of Acupuncture y Therapies of Chinese Traditional Medicines (MTCH), and director of the Mendoza branch, said “That experience in Tibet was an important advance for Mendoza because it opens up institutional channels for the exchnage of knowledge”
Mr. Roux also noted that the geographical similarities of Mendoza and Tibet, combined with over 2000 years of experience that Tibet has with this kind of unique lifestyle medicine, could bring health benefits to interested mendocinos.
The MTCH has been active in the province of Mendoza for six years, and plans to put on three free seminars for the public to learn about this kind of medicine. The focus will be traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. The seminars will be in Mendoza City, San Rafael, and San Martin.
