pre-paso-chile.jpg_687088226Last night it stopped snowing in Las Cuevas and as of 10:30am this morning, the tunnel which connects Argentina and Chile via Route 7, re-opened for regular transit.

Mendoza’s national guard “Gendarmería” is allowing cargo trucks to exit Uspallata on a staggered basis, heading west along highway 7 towards Chile.

Due to the strong snowfall on the Chilean side of the border, Chilean authorities are requiring, for the moment, that all vehicles to operate with chains on their tires.
