The swine flu (Gripe A, or H1N1) death toll rose in the province of Mendoza claiming a third life, according to local health authorities. It has been recognized that the number of people taking preventative vaccinations against the flu has lowered, due to the public becoming “less afraid of the illness.”

Epidemiology director from Diego Paroissien de Maipú hospital, Adriana Koch, informed a local newspaper that one of the victims included a Mendoza province Security Ministry employee, who died from swine flu two weeks ago.

The death toll had reached two, with a 29-year-old pregnant woman passing away last Monday at the same hospital and a 77-year-old woman the previous week, at El Carmel Hospital.
