By Michael Holderfor for Wine-Republic.comThis Saturday evening some of the finest wine, food and entertainment come together in the name of charity for a special event at the Angel Bustelo auditorium.
The event has been organised to raise money for the CONIN Foundation (Cooperadora para la Nutrición Infantil), a local Mendoza charity whose mission is to fight malnutrition among children in Argentina and Latin America.
Without sufficient nutrition in the first two years of life a child´s brain is unable to fully develop, which causes physical and mental difficulties later on. CONIN aims to prevent this suffering by providing as much nutrition as possible to young Latin American children.
The event is being supported by local bodegas and top chefs, and with many wine well-known wine experts involved - including Susana Balbo, Mauricio Lorca and Karim Mussi Saffie – you can certainly be assured of the quality on offer.
As well as enjoying 5 premium wines, 3 super premium wines, 2 sparkling wines, and 4 gourmet tapas, attendees will also be treated to a variety of entertainment.
Music and dancing will be provided by Simpecao, Lunfango Tango, and The Flintones; while there also promises to be a big surprise on the night from a group of wine experts.
A jewellery and artwork auction will provide a further chance for attendees to donate to CONIN, and thereby help to continue the charity´s excellent work on behalf of Argentina´s children.
Set up in September 1993 by Dr Abel Albino, CONIN followed an existing model originally implemented by Prof. Dr. Fernando Mönckeberg in Chile and the two organisations work closely together in the fight against child malnutrition. Saturday's event will be attended by national representatives from CONIN: Dolli Irigoyen, Kevin Johansen and Guillermo "Fierita" Catalano.
