Reports are coming in from all over Mendoza that classrooms will be focused on the World Cup as of 9am local time this morning as South Africa takes on Mexico during the opening game. If this is any indication of the passion that Argentineans have for soccer, it can be expected that business and education will come to a complete halt next Thursday, June 17th, when Argentina meets the Korea republic on the soccer field. The first time Argentina plays will actually be tomorrow morning (Saturday) when Argentina and Nigeria play, so most school children are expected to have no problem getting up early on a Saturday morning.
