la-gal-321238Ten year old Ivo Gabriel Lucero from Mendoza is the official winner of a contest put on by Google Argentina, who challenged kids across the country to design a bicentennial logo to appear on Google Argentina’s home page on July 9th, Argentina’s official Independence Day from Spain.

Ivo, who competed against 20,000 kids across Argentina between the age of 6 and 18 years of age, was among the final three Mendocino candidates and traveled to  Buenos Aires recently, with a laptop in hand, wearing a shirt with a re-creation of his artwork.

The event took place in the Galería de Arte Lordi in San Telmo, where 54 pieces of artwork were on display for the final selection. As part of the event, Google Argentina donated funds to Fundación Leer, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting reading among children.
