The Secretary of Culture, the Teatro Independencia, and the Movimiento Independiente de Músicos Mendocinos (Independent Movement of Mendocino Musicians) have organized the event “Independencia Rock” at the Teatro’s Sala Mayor in downtown Mendoza for tomorrow July 1st at 9:30pm
The event will start with the local group “Pedro El Ermitaño”, formed 10 years ago, with a hard bluesy rock reminiscent of classic rock bands like Steppenwolf, but with characteristics of more modern hard rock. Not only will the band be celebrating its ten year anniversary, but also marking a launch of their first official CD, recorded in Mendoza’s own Fader Records.
“Bajo Cuerda” is also scheduled to play their mix of rock and blues, with Indian sounds, and a focus on local and national legends and folklore tales, neighborhood stories, mixed with good taste, fantasy, and metaphors. Bajo Cuerda will also be playing music from their first album “Llueve adentro”
Also to perform is “Vedette” which also is a mixture of bluesy rock and Indian sounds, but with a more danceable beat, and a focus on sounds from the classic rock days of the 60’s and 70’s. The band will be performing songs that will make up their first album.
