Fernando Jereb is a plastic artist and wine producer. Throughout his works, he tries to capture the value of Argentinian winemaking.
Fernando Jereb is a plastic artist of Mendoza, who knows perfectly how to combine art with winemaking. In the 2.0 “My Wine Story” contest, carried out by WineSur the last year, he was in charge of creating the trophy. It was a book which, thanks to its composition and style, expressed the labor in the vineyards and contained the Atipax’s story, the winery resulting winner of the contest.
How did your love for art and wine start?
My interest for art and winemaking comes from my father who, despite not being an artist, was an art lover and collected wines at home. We had many original works made by different artists. Our garret was full of paintings and sometimes, my father gave one of them together with a wine as a gift.
I studied Architecture during 2 years and since 1990, I have thought in making my own wine. During the following years, I devoted my time in my works, until 2000, that I had the chance of showing my art in Spain. I was there for a year, working for the UNICAJA foundation, whose funds were destined to culture. During my stay in Malaga, I worked in different exhibits and won several awards.
How did your dream of making your own wines come true?
