Supermarket sales increased 16.3 percent year-on in May and 2.3 percent in relation to April, the Indec (Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos) national statistics bureau announced.
According to the Supermarket Survey, which pertain to 67 businesses distributed throughout the entire country, sales at current prices reached $5.178 billion pesos, which represents a 28.7 percent increase regarding the same month of the previous year, and 4.9 percent rise in comparison to April.
