BUENOS AIRES (Dow Jones)--Argentina's federal government said Friday that plans to issue up to $800 million in debt on the local market by reopening its U.S. dollar-denominated 2033 discount bond.

The bonds will be issued under Argentine law, the government said in a resolution published in the Official Bulletin.

Argentina first issued 2033 discount bonds denominated in pesos and foreign currencies during its 2005 debt exchange. It subsequently sold additional discount bonds for cash through intra-public sector issuances and as part of a second debt exchange with creditors last year.
