BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Corn farmers in Argentina, the world’s second-largest exporter, might produce 9.1 percent more than forecast this season because of “ideal” weather conditions, the country’s corn and sorghum trade group said Tuesday.
South America’s second-biggest economy could produce a record 30 million metric tons of corn in the 2011-12 season, said Martin Fraguio, executive director of the trade group Maizar.
