OMAHA (DTN) -- Going into late (summer), the rainfall pattern in Argentina is improving, but heavy rain is delaying the harvest and affecting the quality of the early soy crop in Brazil.
This increase in moisture is in line with research on the long-term impact of La Nina in Argentina, and offers the prospect of a larger harvest than the trade was expecting a month ago.
Despite the improved outlook, Argentina appears unlikely to match its 52 million metric ton soybean harvest of 2010. Most trade estimates are ranging from 43 mmt to 47 mmt, with comments noting that the harvest could increase if the recent rainfall trend continues.by www.kfgo.com
