Economy Minister Amado Boudou spoke on inflation rumours and warned that "there are no macro-conditions for an inflationary situation to be triggered." Boudou stated that "the government is to carefully monitor prices.""There are neither macroeconomic conditions nor terms for an inflation to be sparked. Price increasing is not a likely scenario and the government will closely watch prices' behavior," the minister pointed out.
Boudou talked on the pensions' hike and the family allowances benefit and stated that "these measures were implemented without increasing tax pressure on the private sector." He added: "The State has fiscal surplus, trade surplus, a stable dollar and reserves," highlighting a "quiet" economic scenario.
