Minutes after arriving from an official trip to China, Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman said President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's visit went "very well" and assured that the recent accords would "increase the amount of exported Argentine products to the Asian country."
"We saw the need to cooperate between Argentina and China, to create a dialogue that would enable us to export more of our products and increase Chinese investments in our territory in order to create a platform for other Latin American countries," he said.
Mr. Timerman explained that "over a hundred Argentine businessmen could prove the Chinese the kind of work we do."
He also expressed that during the visit an agreement of exportation of pharmaceutical industry technology was signed with the biggest Chinese company in that area. "It was without a doubt, a great trip. We're very happy," the Foreign Minister said.
Regarding certain differences that arose in the soy bean oil exports matter, Mr. Timerman explained that "everything is being sorted out."
"We have set up a bilateral committee to find a solution," he expressed.
However, he warned that their main goal during the visit was "not to discuss the soy bean oil issue, but to talk to Chinese authorities regarding the Argentine possibilities in industrial and exporting products."
