bah-26491_cristinajintaoIn her second day of official activities with her Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner signed a series of bilateral agreements and will later be honoured in a dinner in which delegations from both governments will be present.

Mrs. Fernández de Kirchner was greeted by Mr. Jintao, who expressed his wishes to "strengthen" bilateral relations.

In the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, Mrs. Fernández de Kirchner said it was "an honour to be there" and later apologized for not having been able to visit China a few months ago. "I had to deal with some internal problems," she said, as she described the reasons for cancelling her scheduled meeting in January.

She then expressed she was "certain" both countries would "strengthen their relationship" after her visit.

Mr. Jintao replied by saying he considered her "a great friend of China" who's always "supported Chinese relations with Argentina," and remarked he was certain "both countries would move forward with the agreements."

Along with Mrs. Fernández de Kirchner, Foreign Relations Minister Héctor Timerman, Planning Minister Julio De Vido, Industry Minister Débora Giorgi and Agriculture Minister Julián Domínguez were present, along with Transportation Secretary Juan Pablo Schiavi.
