bah-26381_cfk_chinaPresident Cristina Fernández de Kirchner arrived in Beijing where she was welcomed by the Argentine Ambassador to China, César Mayoral, and China's national ceremonial director.

The president Landed on the Tango 01 presidential airplane along with Foreing Relations Minister Héctor Timerman, Production Minister Débora Giorgi, Planning Minister Julio De Vido, and Agriculture Minister Julián Domínguez. All the officials were rapidly transported to a local hotel.

Fernández de Kirchner's visit to the Asian giant comes in the middle of an array of cross fire between the two nations in terms of commercial relations as China is accusing Argentina of growing trade protectionism toward Chinese products and took some retaliatory measures as reducing the import of Argentine soybean oil, which represents a US$2 billion business for the South American country.

Early this year, President Fernández de Kirchner's had cancelled an official trip to China as the ruling party was fighting the opposition on the use of Central Bank's foreign currency reserves to meet debt payments. President Wu Jintao stated his disappointment for such an attitude to the point that the Argentine leader had to apologize for calling the visit off. The good gesture seemed to enhance the ties as China resumed buying oil and soy beans from Argentina.

The president also travelled in company of numerous local businessmen that will try to seduce Chinese investors as well to open new markets.
