Study finds that Mendocinos have cautious shopping habits

articlenopicThe private market study company Evaluecan conducted a recent study of 187 people (100 men and 87 women) between the ages of 20 and 45 years old, that showed 53% look for the best price before buying, 32% plan their purchases in advance, while 15% buy on the spot.

Mendoza has been the test market for many companies since the 70’s; because of this very reputation the population has of cautious purchases.

Néstor Ferrari, who works in the Market Research and Commercialization department of the Faculty of Sciences in the University of Cuyo, said that “Mendocino consumers act rationally and it shows during times of inflation”.  A common practice is to buy durable goods and big ticket items with the rational that “If I buy it now, I am protecting my savings.”
