Mendoza’s participation in this important international fair resulted in concrete business opportunities for exporting local products to the Chinese market.With the aim of promoting Mendoza’s productive offer in the world, the Minister of Production and Technology of the province, Raúl Mercau, representatives of ProMendoza and local businessmen were present in this event, which gathers million visitors from all over the world.
Mendoza participated in Expo Shanghai 2010 from 30 August to 3 September. In this edition, “Mendoza’s week” included Argentinian wine tastings and gastronomic specialties, rounds of business and interviews with importers.
Apart from the exhibition of local products in the fair, local representatives hold meetings in order to give an incentive to investments in Mendoza as well as the commercial exchange between both regions. This way, they invited Shanghai Chamber of Commerce to visit Mendoza in 2011.
Rounds of business, tastings and talks
The mission also included a round of business with 25 Chinese businessmen from imports, distribution, logistics and supermarkets, with the participation of 12 canned fruit and vegetable companies from Mendoza (Industrias Alimenticias Mendocinas Alco, Arcor, Ava and Agroindustrias Molto), wineries (Viniterra, Finca Las Perdices and Bodega Séptima) and companies from the oil industry (Olivares Victoria).
The event also included oil and wine tastings with the participation of companies from Mendoza such as Viniterra, Septima, Finca Las Perdices and Olivares Victoria.
